The Inspiration

A retreat born from roots, story & soul

This retreat was not designed by a travel agent. It is a tapestry — threaded with literary pilgrimage, personal lineage, and soul calling.

When our book club read The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese — a sweeping saga of a Kerala Syrian Christian family across three generations — something stirred deep. The rivers, the backwaters, the faith, the grief finding meaning in water. This was not just a story. This was home.

My own family's roots are in the heart of this land — the ancestry of Syrian Christianity, the paddy fields of Kuttanad, the churches of Pallipad. Family connections on the ground are helping us curate this experience with pride, purpose, and deep reverence for the ancestors who shaped this culture.

"This retreat is a tapestry — threaded with literary pilgrimage, personal lineage, and the ancient call of a land that has been waiting to welcome us home."

— Sarah Kuruvilla, Founder, Vedic Vibes

"A 12-year-old bride becomes the matriarch of a Kerala Syrian Christian family across three generations (1900–1977) — weaving water, faith, medicine, and a mysterious family Condition into a sweeping meditation on how grief finds meaning."
